Treatments For Stuttering And Stammering

What are the most popular treatments for stuttering? Are you able to overcome a stutter and achieve fluency? How long does it take to achieve fluency? Are there any specialist courses for stuttering that I can attend? Where can I find out more information about how to cure a stutter? These are questions that I am asked on a daily basis and ones which I will be answering in this article.

My name is Stephen Hill and I am a speech coach from the UK. I am somebody who successfully managed to overcome his own stutter when I was aged twenty-two. I have now enjoyed fluency for the last thirteen years.

The main form of therapy that I offer comes in the form of a specialised speech course for stuttering. The courses are on a one-to-one basis which in my opinion is essential. The courses are run in South Birmingham, in England.

The most popular form of therapy that I offer; however; happens to be the seventy minute stuttering cure DVD. This film includes a lot of information including those all important techniques that I used to eradicate my own stutter.

People are also able to purchase an e-book and an audio book; all of these are what I call self-help stuttering treatment products.

Over the last few months I have introduced a couple of new stuttering therapy options; the first is fluency coaching over the telephone and the second is stuttering therapy via Skype. These are also starting to become quite popular.

The majority of the people who contact me; whether it be via e-mail, telephone or letter are from the United Kingdom however I do receive a lot of interest from the United States, India, Australia, Ireland, Pakistan, Norway and New Zealand. I have a blog at blog.stammering-stuttering.co.uk which has a map that shows people where the visitors to the site are located. This is something that is quite interesting to keep a track of from time to time.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Eradicate Your Inner Demons To Become A Success

Whether you a sportsman attempting to make the grade or a businessman trying to impress; there are number of essential elements which will ultimately decide your fate. In this article I will be writing about the ways in which I managed to eradicate my inner voice which ultimately led me to gaining a happy, successful life.

I have now successfully won this war on the demonic voices in my head. It was far from easy and it took many months however in the end it was well worth the wait and it was well worth all of the effort that I had put in.

These demons had shaped my life for far too long and had shaped it in a way that I was far from happy with. They would stop me from attempting to gain a better life by making believe that my efforts would not work. They were like a cancer in my brain shackling any progress that I was attempting to make.

How did these demons become a part of my brain? Well I am not sure really, I actually believe that we all have demons of some sort but that perhaps some people manage them in a far better way than others. I had a stutter which was the main cause of the voices in my head.

The demons played on my weakness and inability to speak fluently. They even made the speech impediment worse by attempting to convince me that I would stutter on every word. I walked around in a state of fear; scared to speak; scared of my own shadow! I could not continue to live my life in this way – something had to give.

This is when I decided to declare war on these nasty vile demons. It was a war I could not afford to lose and therefore I knew that I would have to leave no stone unturned in my quest for victory.

Around eleven months later I had found a cure for stuttering and had emerged victorious from this “bloody battle”.

I am now enjoying a thriving career offering a web promotion service to small businesses in the UK and helping to run a DVD authoring website.

I am confident that other people will also be able to achieve success by following the above ideas.

The Frustration of Having a Stammer

Are you one of the many people who suffer with the speech impediment known as stuttering or stammering? Does your stutter/stammer cause you to become very frustrated at times? Have you attended speech therapy in the past in the hope that it would help improve your speech? I have managed to successfully overcome my own stammer and as a career I now help other people to attain fluency. In this article, I write about the frustrations and emotions that people who stutter have to deal with.

When I had a stutter, it created many different forms of emotions within me. The stammer was not exactly something that I was proud of; this is why I was less than eager to discuss it with other people. My family, especially my parents, even to this day are unaware of most of the difficulties that stuttering caused me, during my time at school and in my late teens. Even when I had a really bad day at school, I would not talk about what had happened with my parents. I would instead just go to my bedroom and attempt to forget it.

I also felt rather sorry for myself. I always believed that I was a decent person and did not think that I deserved to have this horrible stutter. There were many people in my class who in my opinion deserved to have the stutter much more than I did, however in truth I would not wish a stutter on anybody.

I was a person who felt like a second class citizen due to the fact that I had this speech impediment. I was not able to socialise with the ease as what everybody else seemed to, and had many traumatic experiences in the classroom when attempting to read out of a book for example.

I was, at times, able to speak as fluently as the next man, despite the fact that I had this annoying stammering problem. I could not understand why I was able to talk to person A but not person B. This caused me many frustrations.

When I was about sixteen, I started to drink alcohol. This had a major impact on my speech as I could talk perfectly well when I was drunk. This showed me that it was possible to “stop stuttring”.

Speech therapists and negative national associations, have for years attempted to convince me to accept my stutter and have told me that there is no cure for stuttering. How can this be right, if I was constantly drunk, I would be fluent, there is a cure in itself. Of course it is not right or healthy to be constantly drunk but I am sure you know what I mean.

There were certain speaking situations that were especially difficult for me to handle during the period of my life when I had the stammer. Making and answering telephone calls was especially hard for me. I look back now and can not believe that I coped with working in an office environment for six years, at a time when I had the stutter. I remember traveling to work feeling sick in my stomach through the stress and fear.

Ordering drinks and food at the bar, introducing people to each other, attending meetings and job interviews were other aspects of my life which were made all that more harder by my inability to talk fluently.

My advice to people who have a stuttering problem is to not give up, believe in yourself and your own ability to one day achieve fluency. Beware of those who spread negativity such as those people who attempt to convince you that there is not a cure for stammering/stuttering – they are wrong. Most of the people who say this to you will have never had a stutter and will have no idea how our brains work.

Remote Working Part 3 – Essential tools

Quickbooks Login

self management more….

Before I share with you my collection of my favourite web tools that almost certainly assist you to work remotely, I want to discuss one more item related to self management and specifically to do with maintaining your focus and powers of concentration

I’ve uncovered and confirmed a common habit in men and women who work on the Internet and I’ve known for a substantial period and I call this habit the 50 minute effect. I spotted these contacts who concentrate and work for 50 mins. and then make themselves take a complete ten mins. break and are a significant order of magnitude more efficient and generate a considerably higher quality of work than friends who don’t have structured working methods.

OK as promised I present you with my list of choice remote working online services:

Electronic Mail

Google Mail has a price tag of zero. In my experience the search and label (categories) functions are the best implementation I have encountered. The only disadvantage so far is that I have seen it run quite slowly on lower spec.computers

Phone calls

Skype
used to infuriate me as the call stability was down right horrible, but three cheers for the coders at Skype now as they have substantially changed the quality of the service. For meagre amount of money a quarter they enable me to call and conference in any telephone and Skype subscriber on the planet. The latest edition of Skype has an abundance of really good features and there constantly expanding collection of practical add on applications.

Organising Content

Evernote
has secured in excess of a million users in a very short space of time – it enables you to store, organise and add notes to any type of digital media on the web. Just go check it out…it’s free.

Invoicing, Time and Expenses capture, Accounting and CRM

You probably know that my calling to work remotely was originally inspired by Quickbooks Online, a small business accounting software system. But it is easily beaten hands down by the free edition of salesorder.com – a lead to cash system that’s as easy to use as a pencil I looked at NetSuite whose pricing (and people) scared me off. My choice here is salesorder.com – Go check it out.

Remote Working Part 2 – Things you should know about managing yourself

Quickbooks online

The top reason individuals fail to adapt to operating remotely is they fail to recognise the need for first class organisation and robust self discipline.

I have been toiling remotely for almost a decade since I first unearthed Quickbooks online an ‘on demand’ small business accounting software service and was spellbound by the fact that if you can do accounting on the web then why shouldn’t it be workable to perform other important types of work at a distance?

Whilst working remotely has a lot of positives there are numerous pitfalls which turn into issues that result in reduced work output and reduced morale. The major reason for decreases in productivity in remote employees is interruption and it is a confirmed and well publicised fact that it can take a person up to 20 mins to return to their original productivity level after experiencing an interruption.

Studies also show that members of both sexes who are regularly experience disruptions are more likely to be susceptible to lower memory capacity and are prone to developing mental health problems in later life. We exist in an over communicated era and it is essential that you know the problems this causes before you start working remotely. Whilst operating remotely you must do everything feasible to remove the probability of being disturbed.

Here are things that really do work:

1, Get a routine, tell everyone about it and stick to it!

Good examples are a specific time of day when you check or compose and reply to mail and make or take phone calls. Before I began working remotely I used to get as many as 200 electronic mails a day. Now I think I am unfortunate if I receive greater than five. To start over with my e-mail experience I modified my e-mail address and obsessively took precautions to shield the details being made known to anyone. I then educated every party who I gave my e-mail address to, to use it with special care. I also configured an auto-responder that swiftly told anyone sending me mail at what time of day I would be reading mail and if an item must have my immediate consideration to mark it as ‘Urgent’.

2. Get rid of alerts.

Turn off every possible mechanism that can send you a interruption. This includes cell and
ordinary phones and forms of alerts from e-mail such as visual alerts, warning sounds, display changes to your inbox list and of course facing a window. Get a door on your office and put up a ‘do not disturb’ sign on it.

In ‘Remote Working Part 3 – Essential tools’ I will reveal my favourite tools and software.

Can You Benefit From Having a Life Regression?

Only a total of twenty five percent of the population believe in reincarnation. However, this does not prove it does not exist. Were you ever inclined towards something or perhaps had an ability or talent and maybe wondered where that ’something’ came from? I’m sure you have an idea what I’m referring too. At time during the day, we may feel a strong connection to something and haven’t got a clue why. Perhaps it was something that was important to you in your past life.

This possibility, unfortunately is overlooked by many people who ignore is validity and consequently miss an opportunity to find out who they are today and to grow as a person. What is not realized is by not regressing to a past life you may well be loosing out by impeding their own personal successes, their growth as an individual and the achievements they would accomplish.

Research into past life regression has been done extensively and is now a tool to help the emotionally disturbed and considered a very powerful tool.

One of the most common benefits of life regression is the healing and clearing of trauma. When we encounter trauma we all make one of two choices, run or face it and change it. When we are talking about life regression and facing trauma we also have the option of rescuing the past self and helping him/her move forward to the now where the trauma can be viewed as a whole by the Higher Self.

Contacting our creative sides is possible with the help of past life regression. Without exception, everyone is imbued with many talents and abilities which can help with guiding them in making choices and dealing with situations that they experience throughout their life. Going back into past lives with life regression makes it possible to bring these abilities forward to use as a inner guide.

A transgression of a past life can be rewritten with help from past life regression. Karma means whatever you do ‘good or bad’ will come back to you otherwise commonly known as ‘what goes around, comes around’. If another individual happens to be involved in a contract or promise or agreement, in a past life and you want to change it or be free of it you have to back into the past life when this agreement took place. Using your inner guide to help you, you can go back and decide to make atonement for this agreement or to see if it can be changed to help with your present situation.

There is also the most significant benefit for going through past life regression and that is grounding and affirming one’s self.

Those who do go back to a past life using regression want to feel grounded and this is not uncommon. They also become more aware of their individuality and as a person. They are now more aware that they have some connections, talents, abilities, characteristics and desires and this is a fact. This information they have received gives them the reason for their abilities and talents, enabling them to accept the situation and to begin living a more complete and balanced life.

When experts in the field of past life regression are asked, they agree that a person can enhance and improve their life when they practice past life regression. They will remember theses past lives and start to fulfill their ambitions and live a more complete life in the present.

You think you experience feelings of simple figments of imagination, but a catharsis will begin, opening your mind, breaking down barriers that are blocking your achievement efforts giving you the ability to achieve everything you want in your life.

To briefly recap the benefits of life regression include dealing with traumatic events from the past so that we can move forward in the present life. By dealing with issues from the past we are better equipped to make better decisions today because we can use the experiences we have had in the past.

If we are aware of our history, there is less probability we will repeat it. True world wide and of your personal life as well. Knowing you have been dishonest (in the past) and you have paid the price of that dishonesty enables you to change your way of doing things in a better and more productive way in the present.

Knowledge gained from past life regression is the most important benefit and is a fact. You will understand better who you are and the reason you are, who you are. The opportunity for a compete and balanced life is yours for the taking. Take full advantage of all your talents, skills and abilities to live to your fullest potential. Now you are aware of abilities, talents and skill you never knew you had, use them to the fullest

What Makes A Great Salesman?

So you want to become a better sales person as you are convinced it will do your career prospects a power of good but you are not entirely sure as to what makes a good salesman. If this sounds a bit like the predicament that you are in then this article may well provide you with the answers that you are looking for.

When attempting to sell something whether it be a cheaper calls to mobiles service, insurance, a debt management plan or a stuttering therapy product, to name just a few, then you need to do so with passion.

This is an essential element of all of the great salesmen, an ability to talk with a belief and positivity about the products that they are selling.

How many times has somebody attempted to sell you something but have done so with absolutely no “gusto” at all? It is like they do not even believe in the product themselves or that they have resigned themselves into the fact that they will not be able to sell it. It is like the sales people who attempt to convince you to switch utilty supplier:

“Can I speak to the person who deals with your electricity bills please?”

This is there usual starting point but they say it with such a negativity and boredom. Why not start with a much more passionate and positive stance:

“Good afternoon, I am not sure if you have heard of myself, my name is John Staples (example name) and I work for business cost cutting specialists, specialising in lowering people’s electricity bills, am I seaking to the right person about this subject?”

There are not that many easy ways to make money that do not require hard work and a determination to do the right things.

Positivity, passion, belief, honesty and an ability to listen to your customers/clients are the essential characteristics of a successful salesman.

I hope this article helps its readers to further their career and to also become top rate sales people.

Remote Working Part 1 – Overview

Quickbooks online

Obviously not everyone is able to work remotely as many types of employment require us to consistently attend their place of work or travel to perform their duties in person. But for those of us given the opportunity to work remotely then I thought it would be useful to share what I have learned and offer some practical directions by writing and publishing it on the web with the sole objective of providing valuable timesavers for adapting to remote working or managing remote workers.

I can tell you that there are groups of self proclaimed ‘gurus’ online who will try and get you to buy courses for preposterous sums of cash, trust me you don’t have to do this.

I am blessed to be permitted to work wherever I choose and just about everybody who asks me what job I do wants to get details of how I manage to work remotely. Don’t be mislead here I am still learning about the art of remote working as everyday I meet people on the net who tell me about new ways and I am continually finding new systems and approaches that make my life simpler and increase my productivity.

Over the past seven years I have immensely adapted my working processes to enable me to do the majority of my work remotely with a portfolio of internet tools and unfaltering self management. One lunchtime whilst browsing the net I found Quickbooks online and this made me think about what just might be possible. The discovery of ’cloud’ based ‘on demand’ small business accounting software was a ‘light bulb’ moment for me and the beginning of my ‘remote working journey’.

I have to mention up front that effectively working remotely is as much about the tools as it is about self discipline. Working remotely also means informing your team members, superiors and clients as to what they can expect and how they will maintain contact with you.

In ‘Remote Working Part 2 – Managing yourself’ I discuss how to focus.

A Registered Nurse is Worried About Her Mental Health and Comes to the Conclusion to Quit Drinking, Stop Smoking, Start Exercising, and Go on a Diet

For the past sixteen years Natalie has been a professional nurse at a local hospital. As a licensed practical nurse, she unmistakably knew what to tell her patients concerning their health problems but in her private life, however, she clearly didn’t practice what she preached. For example, she characteristically drank in an irresponsible and abusive manner, she almost never exercised, she smoked nearly two packs of cigarettes on an everyday basis, and she was more or less thirty-three pounds overweight.

Natalie Gets Into An Automobile Accident, Fails An Alcohol Test, and Goes to The Local Jail

One morning on her way to her job, Natalie got into an automobile accident. Because the accident was her fault and because her speech was garbled when she spoke, the arresting policewoman administered a breath alcohol test known as a breathalyzer test. In concurrence with standard law enforcement policy, when an individual gets involved in a traffic accident and fails to pass a breath alcohol test, the individual has to spend at least two hours in the local jail.

Natalie is Humiliated By Her Automobile Accident

Needless to say, Natalie was feeling quite a bit of shame about her traffic accident. Additionally, she was humiliated by the fact that she was at fault. And perhaps worst of all, she experienced more than a little shame about the fact that she was driving after she had been drinking. As Natalie reflected on her circumstance, nonetheless, she understood that it could have been far worse because at work, when a alcohol blood test is administered and failed, the person has to go to mandatory alcohol therapy and is placed on non-pay status. This was merely one of the alcohol facts that was a reality at the hospital and not much could be expected to change this fact.

Natalie’s Shame About Her Car Accident Encourages Her To Go Over Her Life and Make Some Remarkable and Positive Alterations

In any event, Natalie’s shame about her automobile accident helped persuade her to review her life and make some noteworthy and positive changes. First, she was going to refrain from drinking in an abusive and hazardous manner. Second, she was going to stop smoking. Third, she was going to go on a diet. And fourth, she was going to start exercising.

As disturbed as Natalie was about the entire traffic accident situation, she used this distressing experience as a trigger for healthy change. What is more, she used her sorrowful experience as a realization that she had been failing to address her own health while she openly told her patients how to live a more healthy life. At last, she eventually saw the insincerity in her behavior and decided that she would live her life as a constructive source of encouragement for the people she treated at the hospital.

Mindpower Defined

Did you know that we only use 10% of our mindpower? It’s pretty amazing to think about – what could we accomplish if we could somehow tap into the 90% of our minds which usually go unused? Certainly, there is a lot of unexplored potential right there in our own minds.

Scientists are in agreement that people who can use psychic abilities like remote viewing and telepathy must be doing so by somehow accessing this normally unused mindpower. Some people are apparently born able to use these abilities and others only learn to use these natural abilities later on in their lives.

We’re not sure yet how it works, but there is ongoing research into how our own mindpower can influence the world we live in.

Some studies even point towards the ability of our own minds to change reality. Our minds may be molded by the world less that they mold it, it seems.

And with films such as ‘The Secret’ which explains the theory of the law of attraction, people are realizing that by changing the way they see things and by using their mind power, they can attract abundance and anything they want into their life.

The law of attraction is all about cause and effect. The principle holds that our thoughts have no less of an effect than our physical actions and that focused thoughts can attract outcomes to us.

So the subconscious mind is not only responsible for all of the esp powers such as telepathy, remote viewing, and precognition, it also reacts with the ‘universe’ or what some call the ‘universal consciousness’, to manifest your desires.

In order to develop your mindpower, you need to get your conscious and subconscious minds in communication with each other. There a number of different methods to build this link and help you increase your mindpower.

Affirmations:- Most people know about the simple process of affirmations. By repeating a positive phrase, to yourself several times a day your subconscious mind eventually gets the message!

Affirmations can be used to help you become more confident. Try something along the lines of ‘I am a confident person who people respect’. You can also use affirmations to help you rid yourself of bad habits with a saying like ‘I would never put off my routine of daily exercise’.

Affirmations eventually sink into the subconscious mind when repeated. Your subconscious then influences your behavior to bring about the desired result.

Affirmations can be even more powerful than seen in these examples. Affirmations can be used to build mindpower and even change the world.

Visualization:- You can also develop your mindpower using visualization. Visualization consists of closing your eyes and picturing the things you want to happen in your mind’s eye. Your subconscious mind responds to the images which you focus your thoughts on and begins using your mindpower to make them a reality. You can visualize anything you want and with practice, you’ll increase your mindpower and make it possible.

And you can also visualize yourself having psychic powers. Visualize yourself communicating using telepathy. See yourself being able to see into the future, or view remotely. Using mindpower whatever you want to happen will.

Hypnosis:- Hypnosis is a powerful means of reaching and communicating with the subconscious, which helps develop mindpower. A professional hypnotherapist can place you into a hypnotic trance and give suggestions to your subconscious mind which can increase mindpower and help you to affect behavioral changes.

Alternatively you can try self hypnosis where you listen to a recording of a hypnotherapist going through the session. The advantage of this, apart from the cost, is that you can keep listening to it over and over again.

Brainwave entrainment:- Brainwave entrainment uses new breakthroughs in audio technology. Certain frequencies attune your brainwaves resulting in many different benefits such as pain relief and improved memory.

Other frequencies can assist you to get into a state of meditation very quickly to allow communication with your subconscious mind and therefore the development of your mindpower to take place.

Other frequencies can stimulate the parts of your body known as the chakra energy centers. There is a chakra in the center of your forehead called the third eye chakra which is responsible for psychic powers.

Each and every one of us has psychic abilities naturally. These abilities normally stay in the subconscious mind and are not used. However, with the right techniques, your mindpower can be developed to the point where these latent abilities come to the surface and can be used.

When we talk about developing mindpower, what we really mean is unlocking the potential psychic abilities which are present in every person and starting to access the potential of that 90% of the brain which we don’t use every day.
